This Victorian Coach House underwent an extensive refurbishment by award-winning architect Peter Williams. The previously dark hall and stairwell are now flooded with natural light, illuminating the dining space below thanks to a run of linked Conservation Rooflights.
Strict planning conditions and a need to preserve the original oak beams meant the rooflights needed to work within the existing roof structure. Our team worked closely with the architects to create a design that works with the line of the oak beams. Linking bars create a run of natural light that results in a stunning internal finish. Externally, the low-profile frame of the Conservation Rooflights meant that the rooflight did not detract in any way away from the original building, thus conforming to the strict planning regulations.
By specifying linked rooflights, Peter achieved the best of both worlds internally and externally by ensuring the needs of both the client and the Planning Officer were fulfilled.

Our team worked closely with the architects to create a design that worked with the line of the oak beams. Linking bars create a run of natural light that results in a stunning internal finish.
Externally, the low profile frame of The Conservation Rooflights seamlessly integrated with the original building, enhancing its architectural integrity while fully complying with the precise planning regulations. The Conservation Rooflight is the original low-profile skylight, combining the highest modern performance standards with an authentic traditional appearance. Inspired by the Victorian cast iron rooflights, this classic design incorporates all the signature features down to the finest of details, redesigned to comply with all relevant building regulations of today. With full conformity marking to European standards, our rooflights are also found in properties within the Republic of Ireland and further into Europe.
